Celebrate your hard work and honor its fruits in 2019

The holidays are here, and yet it feels like only yesterday we were ringing in the new year. How is it possible 2018 is almost over? This has certainly been a year to remember as many people went through huge changes. Many of us are happy to the see the end of 2018. Yes, it’s good to be hopeful for the new year but we must remember that 2018 is an eleven number year in numerology (2+0+1+8=11). Eleven years mean a lot of self work. We are in a shadow period of our individual work, healing and realization.

Depending on how you viewed this year it will set the pace for 2019, which is a three year in numerology (2+0+1+9=12 / 1+2=3). That means  2019 is all about creation… 2018 was preparing you for this. Hopefully, all that you envision and were daydreaming about this year will come to be in 2019. Taking action steps is what these last few months were about. Being pushed out of your comfort zone was necessary to be able to manifest. If you haven’t been making magic, now would be the time to start doing so. The energy of December favors this.

Celebrating the winter solstice

On December 21 we usher in the winter solstice. On this day we should all do something to honor the changing of the seasons and the coming of the light. The moon will be in Gemini during this longest night of the year. Pay attention to signs, messages and omens you are receiving. I would suggest recording them by whichever means you choose. People will also be channeling messages when speaking to each other. This may not seem like anything other than normal conversation, but be aware that deep messages will be coming through. Affirmations, confirmations and sycnrohizations will be loud and clear. Dreams will be quite interesting and some might not even be able to sleep they are so vivid.

An easy way to honor this day and night is by listening to music, lighting candles or a bonfire to usher in the light, cooking a hearty meal, or just singing. Being with those you love and keeping warm is another great way of celebrating today. Be thankful for this time. It is now time for reflection, rest, and formulating plans for what is to come.

Last full moon of 2018: Face the shadow work

The very next day, December 22, is the last full moon of the year. This full moon is in Cancer, which means the focus is on security. If you thought your dreams and imagings were unusual the night before, they will be nothing compared to this night’s energy. Remember, too, that the full moon energy will be working on us throughout the day of the solstice.

This full moon is having us focus not only on security but also on safety, stability, money, family, love, jealousy, possessiveness, psychic awareness and psychic attacks. Working with this moon will help with any issues in these areas. Feminine (yin) energy will be very prominent with everyone, so men and women both will have to get in touch with the softer, darker, more creative side of themselves. That means not being afraid of shadow work! Some people will feel inflicted with this shadow work, while others, particularly those who have been delving into shadow work for the past months, will thrive.

End of 2018: A deep dive into shadow work

What is shadow work, you ask? It’s fundamental to growth in your human evolvement. It means facing those parts of yourself you may not particularly like. It means making peace, rather than fighting to change. It means really delving deep, recognizing yourself in the things you can’t stand, and then being the change you want to see in the world.

As I mentioned before, 2018 is an eleven year. In numerology, eleven is a master number and the number of enlightenment. We have all been working on our spirituality and the last half of the year it has been with a focus on the shadow side. We had a lot of astrological energy in Scorpio and Pluto, the gatekeeper to the shadow we all have. There are some people who truly believe they have no shadow. Those are the ones who have been suffering this year. As much as there is light, there is also darkness. We are not done working in the shadow yet. We will continue to be working with this energy until the beginning of the new year. All this work means working through fears, insecurities, anger and traumas, all of which help the soul (and body!) to heal.

Honor the energy: Manifest and dream

If you want to do something to honor this Cancer full moon, I would definitely recommend setting intentions, letting go of negativity, paranoia, working with water, going to the ocean, lighting silver candles, making a nice feast with all the fixings, cleaning your house, being in loving energy, and allowing your feelings to surface from deep within. Try creating some beautiful art. It does not matter what type of art you create, as long as it brings you comfort and joy. Consider that sometimes something as simple as baking cookies is an artform in its own right!

Enjoy this time before Christmas when a lot of us are with family. Cancer rules family and you definitely want to set some really positive, uplifting, and loving intentions for your family and for the family you are creating. Bask in the moon and enjoy her power.
